HyDriven's mission is to prove the potential of hydrogen and accelerate the energy transition towards zero emissions. The team aims to show the industry that hydrogen is a promising fuel option. How? By building a racecar that runs entirely on hydrogen. Since 2011, the team has focused on innovating hydrogen-powered vehicles, and this year they will be the first to participate in a new category in Formula Student: the hydrogen class. With their hydrogen-powered racecar, HyDriven hopes to pave the way for other teams to switch to hydrogen and create a true Formula Student hydrogen competition.
To optimize the performance of their car, HyDriven has used our Double Coat. This was applied to perfectly finish the air intake (duct) of their vehicle. The duct, made from prepreg carbon fibre, plays a crucial role in cooling the radiator, which needs to dissipate over 40 kW of heat – essential for the performance of the racecar.
We are proud to support this collaboration and look forward to the next steps of the team. Good luck, HyDriven!
