Adhesion Variobond Flex on cast-iron keel

Mr. Van den Berg, owner of a GRP Victoire used with great success Variobond Flex to bond the cast iron keel to the hull. The cast iron keel was first de-rusted and the polyester was gritsanded with coarse grit paper. Next, a coat of IJmopox ZF primer was applied for good corrosion resistance and adhesion. The joints between hull and keel were filled with Variobond Flex, our new epoxy bonding paste with permanent flexibility.

Our new product Variobond Flex is recommended for those applications where some flexibility is desired and the Variobond maybe to brittle. Variobond Flex can be recoated with IJmopox or Double Coat products.
